Day 210 –
It is always GOOD to return to the Father.
Jeremiah 3:14, 22 “Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion. “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.” “Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God.”
Every Summer I somehow get more vacation with the kids than my husband does. For instance, a couple of years ago the kiddos and I went on a 2 weeks hiatus, leaving daddy behind to work. We went to the beach for a week, came back for a day, and then headed to the mountains for another week.
Truly, it was an amazing time with some awesome friends, but my husband wasn’t able to travel with us. The kids did great for the most part, but toward the end of the trip you could tell they needed their dad and SO DID I.
You know, that’s the same way we are with Our Heavenly Father. Sometimes we turn away from Him. At first, it may be because we feel like we’ve got it all together and forget to look to him, or on the flip side, everything seems to be going horribly wrong and we just completely turn away.
In the beginning, everything seems to going good, but even after just a short time away, things begin to slip. Our attitudes change, circumstances continue to get more difficult, and we don’t even realize it’s because we’ve left His Presence. No matter how long we’re gone or how far we’ve gone away, Our Father in Heaven wants us back.
And once we’ve made the decision to turn back to Him, like a dad kneeling for his children who’ve been gone, He will have His arms wide open ready to embrace us, save us, and heal us of our past.
We NEED the Father just as much as He WANTS us with Him.
There is nothing that can take away His love.
As my kids and I pull into the driveway after being gone on one of our summer vacations, like clockwork, they jump out of the car, race through the front door and straight to their dad.
Our children, are beyond excited to see their Father, and what’s even greater is that He is even more excited to see them.
Have you turned or strayed from the Lord?
Have you walked away because of a certain situation in your life?
He’s longing for you to come back to Him. Your Heavenly Father wants to restore your Joy.
So what are you waiting on? He’s been waiting on you.
