What will Bring you to your Knees

Day 216 –

One way or another every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb.

Jeremiah 25:30-31 “Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: “‘The Lord will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the Lord will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword,’” declares the Lord.”

The lion, is one of the most ferocious and feared animals in the world. He is mighty, the end of the circle of life, and King of the Jungle. On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have the lamb, an animal with extreme peace, a humble heart, a follower of the shepherd, and beloved by all. These 2 animals couldn’t be more different, yet both are filled with the traits of Our God.

Even greater, Our God is a combination of both the Lion and the Lamb.

As the lamb, He rules with a gentle hand and a peaceful heart to guide us on our journey, but as the Lion, He uses His mighty voice to get the attention of the world and leads by example all the way into Eternity and beyond.

We can either bow to the Lord out of obedience with a humble heart by the example of the Lamb or we can fall on our knees before Him out of stubbornness by the Lion’s mighty roar.

Either way, one day, every knee shall bow before Him.

Recently, I’ve been considering the ways of some of those that I love and desire to be in Heaven with me. They say they know the Lord and yet the “fruit” in their life (the decisions they keep making) don’t reflect what God would have us do. The conclusion I’ve come to is that of the man that goes to Heaven and begs Jesus to let him in and Jesus says “But I do not know you.” This man knew Jesus, just like the Devil knows and believes in Jesus, but this man never got down on his knees and humbled himself before the Lord to really know Him and follow Him. And then I realized, I’ve been there!

All my life I knew the Lord. Not only have I known Him, but I’ve loved him. However, for most of my youth, the decisions I made didn’t reflect my love for Him. He constantly tried to guide me to himself with the peacefulness of the Lamb, but it wasn’t until He spoke to me in a deep dark place as the Lion that He got my attention. At that point, I fell to my knees to never get back up.

Life isn’t easier now that I’m on my knees but the Peace of the lamb now guides my steps and sometimes even carries me on the journey to Eternity.

What will it take for your knee to bend, to give up your control, and bow down before The Lord our God?

Remember, He is the Lion and the Lamb, and at some point, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.
