Day 255 –
Let the Few rise up and rebuild.
Haggai 2:3-9 ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is it not as nothing in your eyes? Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. Work, for I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not. For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’”
Just a few months after we purchased our home from it’s original owner, we heard she had passed away somewhat suddenly. I had only met her a few times and she was truly a sweet lady who adored the work her husband had done to make their house their home. So it became my families goal to fully remodel the house, refresh and update it, then have her over for dinner to see all we had done……But now it was too late.
One day, as God calls us to Heaven, our time will be up for rebuilding His Church.
As we reach the pearly gates, we await to hear Jesus say, ‘Well Done‘ or ‘Too late.’
Here on earth, God gives us plenty of opportunities to rebuild and strengthen His church, 24 hours a day, yet it looks as though it’s falling away.
More people are choosing to be complacent and allow the world to dictate their decisions. Some out of the same selfishness we saw in the Garden and some from The Fear that came after the fall.
God sees those of us who are faithful, and He is pleading with us to Rebuild.
He desires for us to make an impact here on earth for His Kingdom in Heaven, promising us He is with us and will help us. He will provide all we need, strengthening us in ways only He can, and making His church even more beautiful than before.
We are the church, the people not the buildings. We are called to heal the broken-hearted, care for the orphan and widow, provide for the poor, and love our enemy.
Will you help me? Let’s Rise up and Rebuild!
