Lead them to the Light

Day 277 –

Lead them to the Light.

Luke 18:16 “But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”

The children of today are the future of tomorrow.

If you watch the news, read the paper, or scan social media, you will see a majority of our youth being led astray. If these media outlets were a crystal ball, our future looks extremely grim.

But where did we go wrong?

Let’s see.…..We took prayer out of school, we made church optional, we told them it’s ok to not listen to authority, it’s ok for them to believe in whoever or whatever their heart decides, and our biggest issue, we’ve lead them to everyone but Jesus.

Many children of this world are lost like the prodigal son. They’ve asked for their inheritance early and ran off to squander it.

But there is a difference between them and the prodigal son…..How will they ever realize they had it better if we never showed them what better is?

As I was reading an article in the paper I saw a report on how many deaths are happening in Chicago. Sadly, the majority of the killings are of children. These children, out looking for a “family” and instead of finding the church family, they find gangs. You know what draws a child to a gang? The gang provides a family atmosphere, one of unity and support, but it also leads them to death. These children were looking for what Christian believers, the church, the true family should provide….love, joy, peace, unity, boundaries and guidance to the Savior, Jesus Christ.

All children are ALL of our responsibilities….those that belong to us, those of our friends, those that are our kids friends, those we coach, the orphans, the child in the grocery store; if we come in contact with them, they are in our village, and if they are in our village, we must help raise them.

It is our job to take them to church, to teach them to pray, to read them the Bible, to answer their questions, to take the time to hear them out, to love them right where they are, to be a living example of Christ.

They can’t know Him if we don’t show them.

Invest time in the youth around you, pray to God to reveal who you should pour your life into, tell them your Jesus stories, how He has worked in your life.

Plant the seeds of Christ in this fertile ground and watch how they grow.

If you let the little children come to His Light, JUST THINK how much brighter our future will be.
