Day 283 –
Did you know someone’s waiting on you?
John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
There is a choice that only you can make that will change the trajectory of your eternity. It can lead you in the way of death or it can lead you to a home which has been prepared for you and holds so many loved ones that have gone THERE before you.
Did you know one day in Heaven is like 1000 on earth? OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES…..This is just one of the many questions my inquisitive youngest daughter asked me today.
You see, when you go through a major loss in your family you try to keep all lines of communication open, especially, death, Eternity, and Heaven. In the months and now years, following the death of our youngest son and little brother, our family dealt with an overflowing of emotions in regards to missing Hayden in a physical sense. One morning, before church, my youngest daughter asked if we could go visit his “tomb” aka gravesite. (Bible lessons of Jesus Death and Resurrection are on the top of her list.) I promised Our daughter, I would take her to the grave as long as she realized that Hayden’s earthly body may have been laid there, in the ground, physically, but he’s actually already in Heaven with Jesus in a completely new body.
Hayden was ready. He knew Jesus and was ready to go fly with the angels.
What’s even greater is the promise we find in our verse today, Jesus went to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house, and Hayden got early access.
Did you know there is someone waiting there for you too? It doesn’t matter what your earthly home is like or where your loved one is laid to rest, but that you know the way to get to your Eternal Home, where the weather is always perfect, joy fills the air, birds sing songs all day long, you are never exhausted or anxious, and light is continually shining forth from God.
The directions there are easy, but the way can be hard.
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
There’s only one way to get to Heaven.
We must believe in the Lord Jesus, the Son of God, as Our Lord and Savior. When we truly believe this, not only will we get to see Our Loved One’s that have gone before us in Heaven (like our little Hayden boy), but Jesus and Our Heavenly Father will be waiting there, as well, to welcome us home.
