Day 294 –
The Struggle is Real.
Romans 5:2-5 “Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
Right now, wherever you are and in whatever you are doing, there is this tight rope being pulled between Hope and Hurt, Safety and Suffering. Whichever side wins or gets pulled to the line, there can be a rejoicing in our spirit for the Hope that we have in the Glory of God.
This truth alone, this thought that something can be worth rejoicing over when it is hurting so bad, can be a struggle in itself. Yet, both sides of the rope are a constant reflection of the Hope that we have available to us.
When everything is going great it’s easy to rejoice in the Hope we have. In these moments of goodness we can feel so close to His Glory that we freely rejoice and speak volumes of how God is working in our life.
Then when we are suffering, struggling with our today, a situation, a diagnosis, a death, whatever it may be, naturally, we turn inward, lose sight of God and allow our thoughts to lead us down dark roads.
But when we come to…..OH…..when we come too, we have a choice to REJOICE in the suffering and let it produce endurance and then the endurance will produce character and it is this character that will lead us straight to Hope…..exactly where we were before the struggle.
Everyone has struggles, including myself. And my struggles are no worse than your struggles, they’re just different. But everyone hasn’t allowed the struggle to produce hope.
Friends, the struggle is REAL.
I’ve felt it, but I also no that if I don’t persevere, I can get stuck in the bad days and never move on.
When we accept our suffering and actually fight our way to Hope we will glorify God and experience His Presence. Through our sufferings others will see Him.
I have my BAD days, I’m not always SMILING, though I wish I were, but even on my BAD days I try to persevere, grow from the experience, and eventually experience His Great Hope!
Persevere! Find Hope in the Hurt.
