Day 361 –
We were made to live in the world not of the world.
Romans 12:1-2 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Too bad we weren’t born into the Garden of Eden, where everything was perfect and no evil was found. (Besides the serpent, that is.) Instead, we were born into the world, where there is a serpent at every corner in every hour of the day.
We turn on the tv, walk down the street, stroll into the classroom, sit down in our office, go to the movies, layout at the beach, no matter where we are we are hit by worldliness.
But God...when we give ourselves to Him, He will transform us….the way we think, the behaviors we’re accustomed to….And God will make us into a living testimony ready for His pleasing and perfect will.
The more we seek Christ, the more we will be renewed into His likeness.
Ephesians 4:21-24, “assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
When God reached down in that pit and pulled me out He found a young girl tangled up in worldliness. Slowly but surely He stripped me of those chains and set me free. It wasn’t an overnight transformation, but a continual restoration into the reflection of Christ.
By no means am I now perfect, but God is still perfectly working in me so that I may live in the world and not of the world reflecting Christ to the world until He comes again.
Allow God to transform you into His image, so that you may be free to live in the world knowing His perfect and pleasing will for your life, leading others to see Christ in you!
