There are great plans for you!

Day 362 –

God has great plans for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

When we sit down and look at our life we may question whether God really has good plans for us.

If we reflect on our many years of unaccomplished resolutions, unfulfilled dreams or incomplete plans we may wonder where God was when we didn’t accomplish these.

Things didn’t go as WE planned.

Just a few days ago, I had a moment, more like HALF A DAY, of overwhelming sadness. It wasn’t one thing, it was a lifetime of many things that welled up in me all at once. Out of nowhere I realized my life didn’t go as I had planned.

I slipped back into my childhood dreams where hope for an easy life resided.

My plans were to get married, have 4 children (that all get along), become a surgeon, have no financial worries, go and do and see the world, and live happily ever after….thank you princess movies.

Proverbs 16:9 “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

After wallowing for a little while, I came to my senses and realized my plans may not have turned out as I’d hoped, but what if what I’d hoped for wasn’t as good as the plans God has for me?!

This “Good” isn’t just for us but for the Good of All.

He guides our steps so that more are saved and come to know Him through our testimony. God never promised us that everything would be easy, but He has promised us that He would be with us in the easy and in the hard.

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

God has overcome this world we live in and has great plans for our future to use our Hard for His Good.

So in the moments, where like me, you question His plans for your life, remember, He does have great plans for you, maybe they just don’t look like your plans.

Things may not have been as easy as I had hoped for, but I trust that His plans are for my good, your good, and His Glory.
